Carrots originate in Europe and Southwestern Asia, and provide great nutritional benefits thanks to their vitamin and mineral content. Water is their most abundant component, followed by carbohydrates, the nutrients that supply energy.

This vegetable also has antioxidant, anti-cancer, antibacterial, antiseptic and diuretic properties that help protect the arteries, boost immunity, reduce cholesterol and prevent constipation. They also reduce the risk of cataracts, cholesterol, macular degeneration and harmful sunburn, while increasing melanin production.

Remember, some of the carrot’s most important nutrients are:
